Judge orders home confinement for Cedar Rapids radio interference case
A federal judge ordered Randy W. Thompson to wear a radio frequency ankle monitor and stay at home pending trial on charges he interfered with railroad dispatch transmissions in Cedar Rapids. The 55 year old faces counts of transmitting on emergency rails communications and making threats to Union Pacific employees. Thompson must undergo mental health evaluation and avoid contact with railroad staff or contractors. A trial date is pending.
