Iowa City considers pairing elementaries to save funds
Iowa City Community School District hosts a packed meeting opposing proposed elementary school pairing and other efficiency plans aimed at squeezing resources. Proposals include K2 with 3rd-5th campuses, a district wide academy structure, and repurposing some schools as early childhood centers to cut costs while avoiding cuts to programs. District leaders say ideas will be studied with community input as budgets tighten.
