Bombs Hit Baghdad and Basra Amid Citywide Attacks
Explosions rocked central Baghdad late Saturday hours after a blast near a U S consular post in southern Iraq killing one and wounding another. In Basra a bomb near a former palace housing a consular office killed one and wounded two. A U S war plane struck militants in Sadr City while insurgents kidnapped the wife and three children of an Iraqi National Guard colonel northeast of Baghdad.
