Fence at Door Divides Once Friendly Neighbors
In Stone City a long simmering land dispute between elderly couple Dale Seeley and Irene Seeley and neighbors Richard and Mrs. Rowley has turned hostile. A two strand barbed wire fence now marks the disputed property along Crow Creek near a former railroad spur bed. Seeley history shows 30 years of care for the land. surveyors recently arrived, prompting fear of encroachment. Tax and warranty records suggest the boundary may run straight north from the edge of the disputed area, not along the railroad bed, with a court battle likely.

The order, a surprise to Jackson officials and other state education leaders, risks broader effects as Jackson schools had just begun a federal court approved busing program to dismantle racially divided registrations at 10 schools.
