Appeals denied for man convicted of wire fraud
U S District Chief Judge Linda Reade ruled that Donald K Washburn 67 of Cedar Rapids had no grounds for relief or appeal in his federal fraud case. The court found his rights were not violated and his lawyers provided reasonable advice and effective counsel. Washburn sought to vacate an 11 year sentence begun in 2012 after claiming ineffective counsel and issues with his signed plea.
