Neiman Marcus Sold for $6 Billion to Canada Pension Plan, Ares
Dallas retailer Neiman Marcus is sold for $6 billion to the Canada Pension Plan Investment Board and Ares Management. Existing owners TPG and Warburg Pincus exit after a 2005 leveraged buyout valued at $5.1 billion. Equity split includes equal economic interests for CPP and Ares with management retaining a minority stake. Deal expected to close in Q4.
