Iowa Wins $20 Million NSF Grant for Renewable Energy Study
The National Science Foundation awards Iowa a five year $20 million grant to advance renewable energy and energy efficiency research. Led by Robert Brown of Iowa State University with collaboration from multiple universities and colleges, the project will explore biomass fuels wind reliability and energy usage. It also includes a policy advisory component and an institute to develop junior faculty and broaden participation. The Iowa State-led effort will be funded by the underutilized program and state contributions totaling $2 million.
