Creston teens disciplined over Klan photo
Five Creston High School students were disciplined, suspended from the football team, after a photo showing white hooded figures and a cross appeared online. Principal Bill Messerole said the incident does not reflect the school or community.

Trial set for Curtis Jones in Iowa City cabdriver slaying
Curtis C. Jones 41 of Mount Pleasant is scheduled for an October 17 trial in the June 27 killing of Ricky Lillie 46 of Iowa City. Judge Chad Kepros kept the date, with a Sept. 22 status conference. Jones faces first degree murder and robbery charges and is jailed on a $1 million bond.
