Kirkwood to Sponsor Fouron Four Basketball and Volleyball Leagues
Kirkwood Community College will sponsor four on four men s basketball and men and women s volleyball leagues this fall. Four on four play will run at McKinley and Wilson junior high schools with six week sessions starting Sept 22 and Sept 23. Volleyball entries cost 60 per team with women s leagues on Wednesdays starting Sept 22 at Jefferson High School and men s leagues starting in October at Kirkwood Johnson Hall and Franklin Junior High School. A coed volleyball league begins Sept 24 at Harding Junior High and a Sunday coed league starts Sept 26 in the Kirkwood gym. For entries call Larry Lutz at 398 5549.

The Independence Community School District offers two ISEA sponsored education courses for teachers. Project PRIDE begins Sept 20 at 6 p.m. in Room 12 at the Middle School, using multimedia to improve questioning and non verbal communication. Project TEACH starts Sept 22 at Starmont Junior High, four hours per week for 10 weeks, with graduate credit from Lesley College? Cambridge, Massachusetts. The course costs 195 dollars with a 15 dollar member discount and 25 dollar deposit required to enroll.
