Father of newborn speaks out after Iowa baby left in trash can
Brandon Addison, father of Matthew James and Ahnna Lily Addison, says he is dismayed the mother Ashley Hautzenrader will not serve prison time. Hautzenrader received five years probation for neglect or abandonment and child endangerment after placing Matthew in a restroom trash bin at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. Addison, custody holder, described his children as thriving and urged parents to heed Iowa’s safe haven law. A GoFundMe supports the Addison children.
