Eight Days of Hope founder returns to Iowa for flood anniversary
Steve Tybor, founder of Eight Days of Hope which mobilized 1,500 volunteers from 41 states and four Canadian provinces in 2008, returns to Cedar Rapids for a Picnic in the Park and Night of Hope on Saturday. The event at Time Check Park marks five years since the floods and honors those helped by the relief effort. Volunteers rebuilt homes and aided in electrical, plumbing, painting, and mucking tasks in Eastern Iowa. The event is sponsored by Serve The City, a coalition of 37 congregations and 17 ministries.
