OSU Center Anderson climbs from eighth grade doubt to senior standout
Ohio State center John Anderson, once a Linn-Mar eighth grader who nearly quit basketball, has become a 6-foot-10 senior mainstay. After modest freshman and sophomore scoring, he posted 6.7 ppg and 5.3 rpg last season, helped by Grady Mateen and coaching plans for more offense in 1987-88. The Buckeyes, 20-13 last year, aim higher with him and returning players.
