Fourth well planned for Solon amid tests and delays
Solon plans a new well by November as the city expands its water system. City Administrator Cassandra Lippincott says the project would be Solon’s fourth well near the recreation and nature area if required tests are favorable. Flow test results are below expectations and bacteria tests were positive but common in early stages. After ultrachlorination and 24 hours pumping, results improved and iron content is very low, reducing filtration needs. If other tests fail, alternative sites may be considered.
