Craigslist ad policy shifts amid critics and scrutiny
Critics liken Craigslist to a virtual marketplace for prostitution while the company defends itself as a posting platform. After state attorney generals pressured action in 2008, Craigslist began requiring posters to include a working phone number and paid fees for adult ads and later adopted manual screening before publication. Connecticut AG Blumenthal welcomed the change while seeking a clear official policy, amid earlier calls to remove the section due to illegal ads and trafficking fears linked to cases like Philip Markoff.

Tightened Kinnick restrictions spark fan backlash
Fans complain as Iowa imposes alcohol bans in university lots one hour after games and bans tailgating two hours after final whistle. Residents like Jerome Swenk and Kermit Knott argue enforcement will fail and note no prior problems in the lots. Security measures include water bottle checks at stadium entry. Sheriff Lonny Pulkrabek warns more incidents may occur at late kickoffs and night games.
