MAC teams drew national attention as Toledo beat Penn State 24 6 at Happy Valley and Miami of Ohio upset Vanderbilt 33 30. WMU held Wisconsin to 3 1 per play while Ames Iowa State fell 25 15. Toledo coach Gary Pinkel stressed respect and stepping into national games.
