Mrs Vesely has been employed by Gains Finance Co in Marshalltown where the bridegroom works for Fisher Governor Co. They will reside in Marshalltown after the wedding and Memorial building event held there later in the evening.
Miss Martha Jo Thompson and Russell Duane Slaman were married in a 3 pm ceremony at St George Syrian Orthodox Church. A reception for 275 followed. couple will live in Cedar Falls where the groom attends State College of Iowa.
Donna Rae Foley and Galen J. Vesely wed at St Pauls Catholic Church with Rev. Richard A. Bohr officiating. Attendants included Joyce Chizek Vicki Rottler Gene Rand and Ronald Hulme. ushers Tom Foley Rick Vesely Joe Kopriva and Larry The couple hosted a reception and dinner at Tonys Steakhouse for 375 guests after the ceremony.
Janet Elaine Davis daughter of Donald D. Davis of Marion and Gary Lee Westphal son of the Wilmar Westphals of Bonduel Wis were united in marriage at Bethany Lutheran church in a Sunday service officiated by Rev A C Hornbostel. The couple will reside in Manhattan Kan after September 12 where Westphal studies veterinary medicine at Kansas State University. The wedding included a reception for 125. a rehearsal dinner was held at Amana’s Ox Yoke Inn.
Miss Jacquelyn Ann Colton and Phillip Lynn Puffer wed Sunday at 2 in the Mt Vernon Methodist church with Rev. Charles Wallace officiating. The bride is daughter of Mr and Mrs Wayne Colton. groom is son of Mr and Mrs Donald Puffer of Mechanicsville. Bride wore satin faced peau de soie gown with Chantilly lace and a bouffant veil. carried an orchid on a white Bible. Matron of honor was Mrs Dean Loomis. bridesmaids were Patricia Colton and Misses Roberta Woods Jacqueline Wilson in sable brown satin dresses with beige lace overskirts.
Steven Puffer served as best man for his brother with ushers Roger Brown Joe Brown and Allen Ahrens. Flower girls were Karren and Sharren Loomis and Darren Loomis was ringbearer. A reception for 250 followed in church parlors with a westward trip. Mrs. Puffer works at Shutt's pharmacy and the couple will live on the Mechanicsville farm.
