ROWLEY Dick Ague 45 manager of Farm Service Oil Co was seriously burned Tuesday at 1130 am in an explosion while pumping oil from a supply tank to his truck. His clothing ignited he ran to his house where the fire was put out and he was taken to Peoples Hospital Independence by Mrs Vic tor Krob. Fire squads from Walker and Independence extinguished the blaze with truck damage estimated at 5000 dollars.

New Gas Line to Cedar Rapids Planned
Iowa-Illinois Gas and Electric starts procurement for a 10 inch gas feeder from Ainsworth to Cedar Rapids and Marion. The 42 mile line from the Natural Gas Pipeline Company main north of Ainsworth will run through Washington Johnson and Linn counties crossing the English River near Riverside and near Coralville to the J street border station. Construction begins early 1951 with completion planned for next summer. Preliminary Cedar Rapids Coralville work begins this fall to boost capacity and ensure service continuity.
