Marion council approves buying 29 acres north of Donnelly and Wilson parks to extend the Indian Creek parkway for 13500 dollars from the Boyson family. City in parks and open spaces program. Vote 4-2 with Schnell and Hall opposing.
Union Pacific announced major schedule changes for City of Denver Portland and City of Portland routes between Chicago Denver and Portland Ore. Beginning Sunday westbound departures from Chicago will be earlier, eastbound from Denver and Portland later. City of Portland arrival remains unchanged. City of Portland 106 eastbound departs Portland at 3 30 p.m. instead of 1 p.m. Other eastbound stops shift about 2.5 hours later. City of Denver Portland leaves Chicago 6 p.m. daily. eastbound Denver departs Deaver 4 p.m. and joins City of Portland at North Platte Neb at 8 45 p.m. Eastbound Denver Portland departs Marion 7 54 a.m.. westbound at 10 01 p.m. Marion rail office says other timetables keep same departures for another train. City of San Francisco Los Angeles will be about 10 minutes apart.
