Planning board rejects May’s Drug zoning proposal converting R1 to R2 on F Avenue and West Hazardwood Drive NW. Officials cite safety concerns for children enroute to Kenwood School, noting increased traffic and hazard potential.
The city planning commission overrode objections to rezoning on Coldstream Avenue NE from R-1 to R-2 and approved a petition to rezone property on Thirty sixth Street NE from R-2 to R-4. Other actions included a denial of rezoning on First Avenue SE and approval of a B-1 to B-2 change for a Town and Country shopping center site.
Preliminary plats for King'sdition on Pioneer avenue and other tracts including Waveland Westwood drives NW and Tenth avenue for Orchard SW receive approvals. A motion to deny was defeated for lack of a second. Final plats sanctioned include LaSalle first addition on First avenue SW and Tickal's first addition on O avenue and Twentieth street NW.
The planning commission approved a recommendation to vacate a section of First Avenue West from north to U S 30 and 218 in Edgewood Gardens. All action will be referred to the city council for final action.
