Greenberg Wins Tri-State Title In Labor Day Tennis Meet

Greenberg, a Chicago veteran, captured the Tri-State men’s title after a grueling final with Hal Surface of Kansas City. Norman Barnes of Iowa City earned the sportsmanship award as Missouri players led the girls and women divisions. Andrew brothers from Iowa City swept the boys events, Jamie Andrews defended the 18 and under crown, and Art Andrews won the 15 and under title with doubles victories to follow. Lucille Davidson of Lees Summit claimed the women’s title, while Barnes received the sportsmanship trophy from The Burlington Hawk-Eye Gazette.

Jones and Tousey Prevail in Cedar Rapids CRCC Events

H. V. Jones won the 54 hole handicap tournament and O. H. Tousey took the 36 hole handicap event as Cedar Rapids Country Club hosted a busy weekend of golf. Jones posted a net 213 and Tousey net 135 while other class winners and scores are listed, including Peter Topic defeating Nick Cramer 2 up for the club handicap championship.

Crabbe Wins Junior Golf Crown at CRCC

Cedar Rapids Country Club named junior champions. Tom Crabbe Jr won the junior boys title with a 142 over 36 holes. Bill Cormack shot 54 to win the 15 and under boys 9 hole event. Freddie Foster finished with a 60 to win the girls 15 and under 9 hole title.
