United gets OK to start direct flights to Cuba
United Airlines will begin nonstop Havana service from Newark and Houston this fall with Boeing 737s. The DOT previously tentatively approved Newark and Houston flights for November 29 subject to final government authorization. Frontier currently operates the only O Hare to Cuba route among the six airlines cleared to resume service to nine Cuban cities.
