Plans unveiled to reform Iowa child welfare
The state reveals the first draft redesign of Iowa child welfare and juvenile justice. A 60 member stakeholder panel of social workers counselors and advocates will review in a six hour public meeting at Embassy Suites Hotel Des Moines. DHS staff across the state will be briefed via video conference and the draft posted online. The Legislature ordered the redesign after cutting DHS funding by 10 million dollars.
