Court records show Jerald Lane, 27, was sentenced to ten years in the Ft. Madison penitentiary for his part in the July 5 beating and robbery of Aleck Sheronick. Judge B. J. Maxwell imposed the term after Lane pleaded guilty to robbery. Sheronick said he was beaten and robbed at gunpoint of about $400 at a southwest Cedar Rapids grocery.
