Iowa FARM-PAC forms to press farmer political influence
Iowa farmers form FARM-PAC to raise funds and endorse candidates. Leader Robert Furleigh of Clear Lake says the independent group aims to influence state and national races, with 85 attendees at its first meeting and board members in most counties. They seek $25,000 by September 18 and vow to select candidates aligned with family farms, private enterprise, and limiting government.
