Honesty Pays Big Reward For Two Honest Teens
Two 13 year olds, Kevin Menadue and Scott Hansel of Regent Street NE, found lost money and checks from a Hy Vee robbery. Store manager Bob Frizzell awarded them each 680 dollars after recovering over 1 300 dollars. The boys had turned in money bags found in bushes near the ice cream shop days later. Police advised on returning the checks to the store as the company sought replacements for the missing 80 percent of checks from the June robbery.

Too Many Condemnation Requests Denied By Linn Judge
Linn District Judge August F. Hansell denied a bid by three Cedar Rapids couples to force the county to condemn under the first method. The ruling followed prior nullification of that condemnation and noted the new action seeks a different right of way and lacks pre established rights.
