Crisis origins and global spread blamed on not U.S. origin
Congressman Cyrenus Cole told a Lions Club audience that the current global crisis is not of American origin. He traces early troubles to 1931 Europe, Austria, Germany, and a collapsing gold standard, noting U.S. recovery began in 1930 and improving in early 1931 before the crisis deepened abroad.

Hall and Benedict, with claims of misused trade name and undisclosed interests in partnership property and royalties.
