Dotty Cummins of Cedar Rapids died after a two year illness from colon cancer at 73. She and her late husband Tait were key figures in The Gazette and later WMT, and deeply supported Camp Courageous near Monticello where they served as permanent board members. Their son Charlie, now 37 in a Cedar Rapids group home, inspired their advocacy for handicapped children. Cummins popularized the camp slogan we are more alike than we are different.
