Sportscaster Bob Brooks accepted a plea agreement after the driver Beau Appleton of Kansas City Missouri pleaded guilty to aggravated misdemeanor involuntary manslaughter in the May 21 crash that killed Jane C Brooks 18 of Cedar Rapids The judge limited the sentence to up to two years imprisoned revoked his license for six years and ordered 2000 restitution to Brooks family
David Henley, 26, of Cedar Rapids, faced Linn District Court on charges of first degree malicious mischief and assaulting a police officer after a tavern was damaged by a pickax. Henley remained hospitalized with two gunshot wounds after being shot by Officer Conrad Van de Zanschulp during the incident.
