Gubernatorial candidates barnstorm Iowa in final push
Iowa candidates Terry Branstad and Roxanne Conlin crisscrossed the state on Saturday to rally supporters for Tuesday’s election. Branstad attacked Conlin’s bonding plan claiming a $700 million tax rise over 20 years, while Conlin labeled his claim a scare tactic and urged minority outreach in Des Moines. Both touted plans to spur jobs, with Conlin stressing minority appointments and Branstad urging fiscal restraint and “pay as you go.”
