Iowa pheasant quail seasons start Nov 6 with lower harvest
The state opens pheasant and quail hunting at 8 am November 6 for 58 days, with a expected harvest around 1 million pheasants down from 1.4 million last season. Heavy rains and a tough winter reduced nesting success, though late bird hatch could help. Corn harvest and dry weather may improve finds next weekend. Licenses unchanged: resident $6 plus $3 habitat stamp, nonresident $35 plus stamps.
