Rockwell-Collins picks Rinderknecht for new Cedar Rapids center
Rinderknecht Associates Inc. is named general contractor for Rockwell-Collins advanced technology and engineering center in Cedar Rapids. The 200,000 square foot three story building will cost about 8 million dollars with a 5.4 million contract and completion planned by November 1, 1979. The project will add roughly 1,000 Rockwell-Collins Avionics and Missiles Group employees and anticipate further expansion within five years.

Cedar Rapids Fire Department expanded its rescue arsenal with two Jaws of Life units to speed extrication of trapped car victims.
