John V. Nash 76 of 1307 Second Avenue SE Cedar Rapids died Wednesday after a long illness. He retired from National City Lines and later worked at the Montrose hotel. Born September 17 1893 in Nichols he married Marie L. Armbright November 16 1916 at Columbus Junction. Survived by wife son John V. Nash Jr three grandchildren and sister Mrs Ira O. Mrs. Mable C. Fandrey 85 of 1327 Sixth Street NW Cedar Rapids widow of Gus Fandrey died Wednesday after a long illness. A Cedar Rapids resident for 70 years she was born May 11 1884 in Johnson County and married March 29 1913 in Cedar Rapids. There are no immediate survivors memorial services pending at Cedar Memorial Funeral Home.

Bonnie Stanley 19 of 1608 C avenue NE and her mother and two Lisbon brothers suffered minor injuries when the car she drove went out of control west of Mt. Vernon and overturned onto the shoulder Wednesday. Darlene Urbanek and her sons David 5 and Bobbie 6 also were injured. all treated at a Cedar Rapids hospital and released. The deputy said Mrs. Stanley was driving west on old Highway 30 at Abbe Creek bridge when she veered onto the right shoulder and overturned on the left. She was charged with failure to have her vehicle under control.
Kenneth W. Loveless, 45, of 411 Sixth Street SE, was charged with breaking and entering in a county attorney's information filed Thursday in district court. Loveless was arrested by police Wednesday night inside a residence location.
Authorities say a suspect broke the front door window to gain entry at 1011 Eighth Avenue SW. nothing was taken. District Court Judge Ansel Chapman appointed an attorney for Loveless and continued arraignment to November 3. Bond set at 5000 dollars and Loveless held in Linn County jail.
Robert C. Gray Jr. 21 of 1432 Third Avenue SE was charged with larceny of a motor vehicle in district court. He was arrested by police in the LaSalle High School parking lot after a car stolen Monday from Paul Walsh 204 Twelfth Street SE. Continued arraignment to Nov 3. Bail set at $2000. Also awaiting action on a vagrancy charge.
