Beirut bombings yield names of 11 suspects

A Lebanese government source said Lebanon handed the United States Marines and the FBI the names of 11 suspected bombers in the Beirut attack that killed 226 Americans and 56 French troops. The source noted none had been arrested and said the attackers wore funeral shrouds and were linked to groups backed by foreign spy services.

Major Idaho earthquake hits Mackay and Challis

A 6.9 magnitude quake struck 110 miles NW of Pocatello, Idaho, causing severe damage in Mackay and Challis. Two children died in Challis, and 15 aftershocks occurred within two hours. Regions affected include eastern Washington, Oregon, northern Utah, southwest Montana, parts of Wyoming and Nevada. No dam damage reported.

Idaho Quake Kills Two Children in Challis and Damages Town

A 6.9 magnitude quake rocked eight Northwest states, killing two Challis children, 7-year-old Tara Leaton and 6-year-old Travis Frank. Affected towns include Mackay and Challis with collapsed buildings and injuries. Gov. Evans declared a disaster and flew to Challis to oversee aid.
