Frank Ray Chewning 40 is charged with first degree murder in the strangulation death of his wife Dianne Chewning 43 whose body was found Oct 6 at the University Inn in Coralville Iowa City authorities say Chewning fled with her car and belongings and is being sought. Police traced the car to Kansas City Kan and say the couple came to Coralville Oct 4 for a hospital appointment.
Washington Iowa pastor Robert Duane Schultz 52, of First Christian Church, pled guilty to sexually abusing young boys. He was sentenced to 30 years in prison by Judge Dan Morrison after officers executed warrants at Schultz home, office and vehicles in October.
Arthur Loomis, 64, of Coralville, convicted in Johnson County District Court on three counts of indecent contact with a child and three counts of sexual exploitation of a minor for incidents last summer at his home involving girls aged 10, 12, and 13. He faces sentencing December 1.
