Crestwood Ridge project defeated by Cedar Rapids council
The Cedar Rapids City Council narrowly rejected rezoning for a $9 million 45 unit low income housing project by CommonBond Communities. The plan would have set aside 10 percent of units for the homeless, with neighborhood opposition helping sink the proposal and forfeit an $8 million federal tax credit. Mayor Ron Corbett and two others dissented.
