Waterloo driver Burton Rice, 21, sobbed at Cedar Rapids police headquarters recounting a hijacking on Waterloo streets. Two thousand jobless men and women arrive in London demanding free coal shoes and milk for children and a 25 percent rent cut amid preparations for an enormous march. The procession from Scotland Wales and other regions aims to present a million-signature petition to Parliament and clashes with tense policing are anticipated. The event is billed as the largest national march in English history.
President Hoover may wrap up his re election tour with a cross country finish including Chicago Indianapolis and Madison Square Garden New York on Monday. He eyes a possible California swing and Western stops as part of a fourth offensive against Roosevelt while noting mixed reactions in Detroit.
In Gadsden Alabama police found Velma Groover daughter of a Methodist minister and Tom Russell a married father of three in a field near town.
