Cedar Rapids Mayor Clarence L. Sedive reaffirmed his belief that beer has worsened since before Prohibition. He rejected free samples from Syracuse radio and urged steps including liquor by the drink and a state beer inspector. He said city life needs honest beer quality and considered Iowa should allow whiskey by the drink with inspection.

Services for Julius H. Roth of 915 F avenue NW will be conducted in the Teahen chapel at 1 30 p m Wednesday. Burial will be in Blairstown.

William L. Rimmer, 27, of 1006 Seventh Street Southeast, was ordered to plead by 10 a.m. Thursday to a charge of false uttering of a check and being a fourth offender. He allegedly wrote a $7 worthless check on the Avenue Tavern dated October 5.
Two suits were dismissed by the plaintiffs Tuesday. S Gumpert Company Inc dropped an account suit against Eugene R. McKeen. Charles and Vera Musil dismissed a personal injury and damage suit against Benjamin Hewitt.
