State Theatre Shows Odd Double Bill Bewitching and Eerie
Oakie and Oboler present at the State a mixed bill with That's the Spirit starring Jack Oakie and June Vincent along with Peggy Ryan and Johnny Coy as Bewitched based on Arch Oboler's Alter Ego. The program blends humor and death themes with notable dance numbers but uneven dramatic impact. Phyllis Thaxter stars in Bewitched with Edmund Gwenn and Henry Daniels Jr among supporting, praised for performances though the plot earns only limited appeal.
