Linn County debates full time five supervisor setup
The five member board voted 4 to 1 in February 2013 to restore full time status and pay, a move critics say affects elections. Nine candidates compete for two supervisor seats in the November race, with Districts 1 and 5 featuring Houser and Harris as incumbents seeking voter approval of the five full-time supervisors. Podzimek and Shoop challenge the structure, while supporters argue the county needs a full time payroll to manage multiple departments and programs.
