Dramatic rescue after El Capitan blizzard deaths
Rangers rescued two climbers and recovered the ice encrusted bodies of two other hikers on El Capitan in Yosemite National Park after an early Sierra blizzard. The victims, an unidentified Japanese man and woman, were retrieved by rappelling from the summit while survivors were airlifted in cold but stable condition. The blizzard driven by a cold front began Sunday and lasted through Wednesday, stranding nearly two dozen climbers across Northern California.
