Old Stone Bridge Near Keota Remains Through Time
A sturdy 1870 stone bridge spans Clear Creek six and one half miles southwest of Keota. Built by Keifer and Frederick, it linked Washington and Keokuk counties on the old state road. Once a bustling route for stage coaches and mail, today cars and the No 92 highway bypass the site yet the bridge endures toward a century of service.
