Iowa City owners and visitors face a park wide ban on cigarettes e cigarettes and chewing tobacco after a 6 1 vote by the city council Parks and Recreation Commission had earlier recommended extending the ban Johnson County Public Health prompted the move and Mayor Jim Throgmorton opposed the measure noting parks are open spaces The rule allows tobacco use inside privately owned cars within parks

Woman faces charges after wrong way crash on I 380
Olivia Deutmeyer 23, of Anamosa, is charged with second offense drunken driving reckless driving and driving on the wrong side after she traveled south in the northbound lanes of I 380 near Collins Road NE at 11 55 p m Wednesday. Her 2012 Chevrolet Cruze hit a truck and trailer but the driver avoided a head on collision and suffered only minor injuries.
