Five area Scout leaders named in abuse files

Iowa Supreme Court rejects Lamasters insanity appeal in Rapacki slaying

The Iowa Supreme Court upheld Lynn G. Lamasters' 2005 murder conviction for strangling Patricia Rapacki in 2003 and hiding her body in a freezer. The court ruled insufficient evidence supported an insanity defense and noted his drug use and deception after the crime. Rapacki was last seen December 27, 2003, and body found in a locked freezer.

Regents weigh tuition freeze and small fee hikes for Iowa schools
