Court rules against removing Huck Finn from reading list
A federal appeals court rejected a black mother's bid to drop Huckleberry Finn and A Rose for Emily from Tempe Union High School District ninth grade readings. The court said schools may not ban books over content though they can address harassment without removing the works. The ruling found no basis to force removal but allowed the suit to proceed on harassment claims.
