Petrus at the Iowa City jail that he stole a 1934 Fisher garage car from Walker last week. He said he wrecked another car stolen at Columbus Junction the night before, hid until 2 p.m. the following day, then went to Walker to take the Fisher car. Lamb disavowed further county crimes and no return to this county will be sought, as other counties hold additional charges.
McALESTER Okla AP Frank Clark 55 year old Negro was electrocuted in the state penitentiary here early Friday for the murder of Mrs Anna Stiles and her husband Dan Stiles who were killed on their farm near Idabel last February.
Secretary Ickes charged Andrew Mellon and Senator Reed with stoking wealth and privilege, blaming Mellon for the 1929 crash and slush funds aiding a Republican machine. Chicago banks posted a sharp rise in deposits for the quarter ending September 29, with loans and discounts also up. State banks lent 14 to 26 percent of deposits, and among 48 principal banks, total deposits reached 2,179,938,218 versus 2,054,457,900 on June 30.
