Hog Flu Likely Began in Cedar Rapids, Says Shope
Dr Richard E Shope of the Rockefeller Institute told the Eastern Iowa Veterinary association that hog flu may have started in Cedar Rapids. He traced swine influenza to 1918 after pneumonialike illness appeared in pigs at a Cedar Rapids show and spread nationwide, noting virus and bacteria interaction and a lungworm carrier.

Indictments planned for three Dreher murder suspects
County Attorney Francis J.
