Sanders Pumpkin Farm to Close After 40 Years
Bonnie and Dwight Sanders will end their pumpkin farm near Vinton after this fall season on October 31. Lupus diagnosed 34 years ago shaped their life and work, and they will pass the operation to the Kacena family who run a nearby Christmas tree farm at 2510 55th St. The new owners plan to add pumpkins and maintain traditions such as free chili and cider doughnuts for visitors.
