Artful retirement fuels Birchwood Artists show in Cedar Rapids
John Pruett 88, a retired Penick and Ford mechanic, shifted to watercolors after being fired by his wife. He and fellow Birchwood Artists plan A Fine Art Affair in northeast Cedar Rapids with cards from his watercolors of local landmarks. Pruett faces a tremor and upcoming corneal transplant but remains active in the group.
