EPA warns of global warming and coastal risks limits of action
The EPA projects 2 to 5 C warming by 2040 to 2100 with larger polar gains and notes that no fossil fuel ban can avert warming. It urges urgent planning, notes potential rainfall shifts and billions in economic disruption, and cites Charleston sea level rise costing up to 1.25 billion before mitigation could reduce losses. A NAS study on CO2 is forthcoming.
