Nixon appeals to silent majority in campaign tour

Hart says brand of gasoline is mostly the same

Senator Philip Hart cited a six city survey showing name-brand and independent stations offer substantially identical gasoline quality. He argued competition could lower prices four to six cents per gallon and noted brand additives mainly aid advertising. Body of Quebec Labor Minister Laporte Found

The body of Pierre Laporte, Quebec Labor Minister, was found Saturday night in the trunk of the car used in his abduction. The FLQ is blamed for his murder as Cross remains missing, triggering Trudeau to invoke emergency powers. 1.3 Million Pact Awarded to Collins

ST LOUIS AP The Mc Donnell Douglas Corp announced a 1.3 million contract to Collins Radio Co Cedar Rapids for a horizontal navigation set for the F 15 jet fighter. The price includes 23 sets for pre production testing and a production contract will be awarded later.

Morris Sanford Dead, Cedar Rapids Merchant and Leader

Morris Sanford 95 longtime Cedar Rapids merchant and civic leader died Saturday after a brief illness. Founder of Morris Sanford Co. department store at 215-217 Third Ave SE, in business 74 years, he guided the firm from 1916 onward. He chaired the Chamber of Commerce, led the St Luke's hospital board 20 years, and received the first Bnai B'rith Community Builder award in 1960. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs H Hamilton Morse and Mrs James H Allen.
